Frequently Asked Questions

Can you travel interstate/overseas?

We can travel wherever you want us to! All we need is a way of getting there, and depending on how far away, somewhere to stay. Contact us to discuss pricing.

What is the difference between a Wedding Film and Wedding Day Story?

While both of our Wedding Film types capture the special moments of your wedding day, our Wedding Film packages are more of an overview of your day, showing what happened during your day in sequence, where as in our Wedding Day Stories we like to be a little bit more creative and create a short film about your wedding day, focusing on different elements, and showing it in a different light. Which should you choose? Contact us today to discuss!

What is a Formalities Film?

Our Formalities Films showcase your wedding ceremony and reception speeches as they happened, featuring audio and visuals.

How long will it take to receive my video?

From your wedding day, we allow 8 weeks to get you the first version of your Wedding Film or Wedding Day Story.

Can I change anything?

If you would like to changes to your film, we are more than happy to oblige! We include a number of revisions prior to approval in every package, but can make extra changes if required at an agreed upon rate.

Can I have the raw footage?

We only shoot what we require for your video, and we do a lot of processing behind the scenes to make it look the way it does – therefore we do not supply raw footage from our films.

How do you choose the songs in your videos?

We select the song for your wedding based on the day itself, your style, and the style of video we are creating. We only use high quality and unique music, which helps to create a cinematic wedding film.

Can I use my own song?

We do not use any commercial/pop music in our work. Music plays a big part in what we do, and a major part of our style is in the music we select for our couples. We only use high quality tracks, from great artists, which make your wedding film unique and add to the cinematic style.

Why do you include 10 hours coverage in your packages?

We have found that 10 hours is the perfect amount of time to capture the highlights of most weddings. In our 10 hours with you on your wedding day we do not capture every moment, rather we observe what is happening, and capture what we need to create a brilliant film.

If you require us to spend more time with you on your wedding day, please get in touch to discuss. If on your wedding day you would like us to stay back longer than we had planned, we are more than happy to for $200 per person, per hour at our discretion.

Do we need to feed you on our wedding day?

Filming your wedding works up quite the appetite – If you can feed us, it would be very much appreciated! If for some reason you can not, please let us know in advance so we can discuss alternate arrangements.

What can I from you expect on the day?

You might not even notice we exist! When filming a wedding we try and be as subtle as possible, and capture the little moments of the day as they happen, no huge crew making your day feel like a movie set. Depending on the package selected and details of your wedding, you’ll either see one or two of us on your wedding day.

Do you require a deposit?

We require a 20% deposit to secure your wedding date. This deposit is non-refundable, as we often refuse other bookings to secure a date. Final payment is due a month before your wedding date.

How will I receive my video?

All our packages come with a digital copy of your video on USB and via online download, as well as a single DVD copy. Additional DVD copies are available for $50 each. We also love to showcase your video as part of our portfolio, and through our various channels of social media.

How many weddings do you do per year?

Currently we have a cap of 25 weddings per year total, and only complete a select number of Wedding Day Story films, depending on our work load.

How do you edit your films?

We edit our films using advanced software, and our cinematic editing knowledge, before applying a beautiful colour grade, and mastering the audio.

What equipment do you use?

Currently we use a wide range of equipment, including the Sony A7s ii, Sony FS5 and Panasonic GH5, with a variety of beautiful zoom and prime lenses. We combine this with a wide range of peripheral equipment, such as sliders and stabilisation equipment, to achieve our style.

Can we meet you before booking our wedding?

We love to discuss your wedding film either via skype, phone or over a coffee. (depending on location!)

Where are you based?

We are based in Geelong and Bendigo, Victoria, Australia.

We can travel anywhere, but especially love local weddings in Geelong and the Surf Coast, Bendigo, Ballarat, Daylesford and Central Victoria and Melbourne CBD and Suburbs.

Do you do commercial work?

While we as Paper Lion Collective do not complete commercial work, our sister company Hebron Films does. Visit hebronfilms.com for more information.
